Our team consist of a registered Psychotherapist (RSW), registered Massage therapists (RMTs) and a licensed Chiropractic doctor working together, making the mind body connections. Understanding Scope Of Practice

  • In an effort to be and to remain as transparent as possible about what you may expect in receiving treatment from Anchor Massage & Therapy, we included herein our Scope of Practice details:

Massage Therapy:

  • Assess patients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion.
  • Confer with patients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain, in order to determine whether massage would be helpful.
  • Develop and propose patient treatment plans.
  • Massage and knead the muscles and soft tissues of the human body, in order to provide courses of treatment for medical conditions and injuries, or for wellness maintenance.
  • Prepare and blend oils, and apply the blends to the patients' skin.
  • Consult with other healthcare professionals, to develop treatment plans for patients.
  • Maintain treatment records.
  • Provide patients with guidance and information about techniques for postural improvement, and exercises for stretching, strengthening, relaxation, or rehabilitation.

Psychotherapy:

  • Is attentive to and responds to diversity and inclusiveness;
  • Works in the best interest of individuals, couples, families, groups, organizations,
  • Works in the domains of cognition, emotion, expression, somatics, human development, behaviour, learning, and interactive systems;
  • Promotes mental health by developing and enhancing:
    • personal, relational, sexual, career, and spiritual growth and well-being,
    • personal awareness and resources,
    • decision-making and problem-solving;
  • Remediates or provides treatment for disorders in cognitive, behavioural, interpersonal, and emotional functioning;
  • Applies specific and recognized evaluation and assessment methods;
  • May also include supervision, education, training, consultation, research, diagnosis, and referral.

Chiropractic care currently unavailable

  • An initial consultation to review your complaint, case history, ask questions and review relevant paperwork and available reports;
  • An explanation of the fee structure and business practices of the chiropractor;
  • An explanation and consent to a physical examination and appropriate diagnostic tests;
  • A chiropractic examination, which may include orthopedic, neurological, muscle function, joint function and radiographic testing;
  • A report of findings, which will include a diagnosis or clinical impression with a complete explanation by the chiropractor of what has been found;
  • A referral to another regulated health professional, if the chiropractor feels a health condition of the patient is outside the chiropractic scope of practice;
  • Recommendations for care, which may include a course of chiropractic adjustment or manipulation and/or adjunctive therapies, such as muscle therapy, electrotherapy, lifestyle advice and recommendation of assistive devices;
  • Informed consent to care;
  • A course of care with appropriate re-examinations; and
  • Adherence to MCA regulations, standards of practice, policies and guidelines and maintenance of appropriate privacy and confidentiality throughout the doctor/patient relationship.

Booking / Cancelling / Rescheduling Appointments

  • Therapy appointments may be booked, cancelled or rescheduled independently online, by emailing Info@WpgAnchor.ca , emailing your practitioner directly or calling 204-415-3202.

Late Cancellation Fee

  • Please cancel your appt. 24hrs prior or a Late Cancellation fee of $40.00 will apply.

Arriving Late To Appointments

  • Please call us if you are arriving late.
  • Patients arriving late can be charged for the original reserved time of service or the appointment can be modified to a shorter service time and is at the discretion of the practitioner on how to proceed.
  • Please arrive no earlier then 10min prior as we do not have reception services .

Payment Methods

  • Accepting debit, credit, E-transfer or cash payment methods.
  • E-Gift cards may be purchased online.

We direct bill to most companies

  • Calling your extended health provider to confirm therapy coverage and requirements prior to your appt. is highly recommended. 
  • A signed Direct Billing Authorization Form (Benefit Assignment Form) is requirement.

Patient Confidentiality

  • All practitioners practice in compliance with the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) in Canada, and are trustees of your healthcare details. As such, all personal information and conversations in treatment are held in the strictest of confidence.

Clinic Sanitation

  • Anchor Massage & Therapy is a medical treatment facility; therefore, all treatment room surfaces and contact surfaces in the clinic like door handles or light switches (entrance/treatment room/bathroom) are sanitized after each patient. Decor is simplified for sanitation purposes. Linens are freshly laundered, and are changed between every patient.

  • Anchor Massage & Therapy staff understand, respect, and adhere to all personal and professional boundary limits and ethics.

Patient Concerns/Complaints

  • Anchor Massage & Therapy maintains a comprehensive policy in regard to patient complaints, concerns, or discontent. This policy is to ensure our patients feel safe, secure, well looked after, and always leave our care happy. The practitioner will inform Management, Management will reach out to the patient via email or phone. We encourage the patient to reach out to Management as well. The goal is to arrive to a solution to the problem together.

  • Your privacy is important to us. It is Anchor Massage & Therapy policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website, https://wpganchor.ca, and other sites we own and operate.

Therapies offered are Deep Tissue for pain, Prenatal (pregnancy), Stress-Reduction
as well as Cupping for fascial releases, Assisted Stretching (PNF), IASTM and Acupuncture. + Massage . Treatments are tailored to your individual needs. Common techniques used are Swedish, muscle stripping and kneading, Myofascial Release (MFR), Trigger Point Therapy, low-grade joint mobilization, stretching techniques such as Active Release, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Golgi Tendon Organ Release/Activation (GTO), Muscle Energy Techniques (MET); and hydrotherapy.

The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of the Musculoskeletal system of the body. Experts in manual methods that augment physical function, treating and preventing physical dysfunction, injury, and pain while increasing the sense of well-being.

Therapies include a comprehensive 1st visit & physical assessment of your area of complaint, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and treatment plan. Every treatment plan is uniquely designed and patient-centred followed by subsequent follow-up adjustment(s) and management plan review. Non-invasive, manual manipulations and mobilizations performed to the spine and joints are made to restore movement and function.

Doctors of Chiropractic are the spine, muscle, joint and nervous system experts. They practice within their scope to examine, diagnose, recommend and deliver a treatment plan that manages issues within these systems without prescribing medication. Chiropractic care can be used in collaboration with other health professionals or alternative treatments in order to achieve the best possible results.

My name is Rebecca and I practice virtual therapy exclusively with adults and adolescents (15+). I have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Manitoba. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Manitoba College of Social Workers.
