Anchor Massage & Therapy, located on scenic Waterfront Drive in downtown Winnipeg, makes a unique massage therapy and chiropractic care experience. We are a treatment and assessment based, patient-centred, wellness clinic. When it comes to holistic and preventative health, at Anchor we treat the physical body but also address emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual health. Our team consist of a Psychotherapist, registered Massage therapists and a Chiropractic doctor working together, making the mind body connections. A circle of care to improve your well-being.


  • Patients are expected to cancel appointments and stay home if experiencing any of the following symptoms: fever or chills, new cough, sore throat, runny nose, headache, sore muscles(not related to exercise) or simply feeling unwell, have been in contact with someone who is sick (including household members) or have travelled in the past 14 days (unvaccinated).

  • If using our direct billing services, please call your extended health provider to confirm therapy coverage and requirements, confirming that your plan allows direct billing prior to completing our direct billing authorization form also included in the Appt. Booking Confirmation email.
  • Billing information can be safely added to your account (using your browser not the App.) for convenient and contactless treatment payment options.

Understanding Scope Of Practice

  • In an effort to be and to remain as transparent as possible about what you may expect in receiving treatment from Anchor Massage & Therapy, we included herein our Scope of Practice details:

Massage Therapy:

  1. Assess patients' soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength, and range of motion.
  2. Confer with patients about their medical histories and any problems with stress and/or pain, in order to determine whether massage would be helpful.
  3. Develop and propose patient treatment plans.
  4. Massage and knead the muscles and soft tissues of the human body, in order to provide courses of treatment for medical conditions and injuries, or for wellness maintenance.
  5. Prepare and blend oils, and apply the blends to the patients' skin.
  6. Consult with other healthcare professionals, to develop treatment plans for patients.
  7. Maintain treatment records.
  8. Provide patients with guidance and information about techniques for postural improvement, and exercises for stretching, strengthening, relaxation, or rehabilitation.
  9. Sanitize treatment tools and space.

Booking / Cancelling / Rescheduling Appointments

Late Cancellation Fee

  • A Late Cancellation Fee of $35.00 will apply to any appt. not cancelled within 24 hrs.

Arriving Late To Appointments

  • Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our waiting area is closed. Please be on time. Please call us if arriving late.
  • Patients arriving late can be charged for the original reserved time of service or the appointment can be modified to a shorter service time and is at the discretion of the practitioner on how to proceed.

Payment Methods

  • We are only accepting credit, debit-credit, cash or e-transfer payment methods (no interac) .
  • Prepaid treatments or Gift Cards can be purchased through our online store.

Insurance & Direct Billing

  • When signing our Insurance Plan Authorization Form (Benefit Assignment Form) you agree that in the event that your claim(s) are declined by the insurers/plan administrator, that you are responsible for payment to the healthcare provider for any services provided .
  • Please call your extended health provider to confirm therapy coverage and requirements, confirming that your plan allows direct billing.

Patient Confidentiality

  • RMTs, Registered Social Workers and Chiropractors practice in compliance with the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) in Canada, and are trustees of your healthcare details. As such, all personal information and conversations in treatment are held in the strictest of confidence.

Clinic Sanitation

  • Anchor Massage & Therapy is a medical treatment facility; therefore, all treatment room surfaces and contact surfaces in the clinic like door handles or light switches (entrance/treatment room/bathroom) are sanitized after each patient. Decor is simplified for sanitation purposes. Waiting area is closed. Linens are freshly laundered, and are changed between every patient. Practitioners wash their hands before as well as after every treatment, after touching spoiled linens or any contact surfaces and are wearing a mask.

  • Anchor Massage & Therapy staff understand, respect, and adhere to all personal and professional boundary limits and ethics.

Patient Concerns/Complaints

  • Anchor Massage & Therapy maintains a comprehensive policy in regard to patient complaints, concerns, or discontent. This policy is to ensure our patients feel safe, secure, well looked after, and always leave our care happy. The practitioner will inform Management. I encourage the patient to reach out to Management or Management will reach out to them following up with a telephone call or email. The goal is to arrive to a solution to the problem together.

  • Your privacy is important to us. It is Anchor Massage & Therapy policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect from you across our website,, and other sites we own and operate.

For our massage therapy and chiropractic care we can bill to: Blue Cross, Chambers of Commerce, CINUP, Cowan, Canada Life (formally Great-West Life), Empire Life, Green Shield Canada (GSC), Group Health, Johnston Group, Maximum Benefits, Medavie, and Sunlife.

We cannot currently direct bill for Psychotherapy services.

Psychotherapy is evidence-based also called talk therapy, is a type of mental health treatment. The use of psychological methods to help a person change behaviour, increase happiness, and overcome problems. Psychotherapy aims to improve an individual's well-being and mental health. There are several approaches that mental health professionals can take to provide therapy. After talking with you about your counselling needs, Rebecca will decide which approach to use.

The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of the Musculoskeletal system of the body. Experts in manual methods that augment physical function, treating and preventing physical dysfunction, injury, and pain while increasing the sense of well-being.

Therapies offered are Deep Tissue (pain), Prenatal (pregnancy) and Stress-Reduction massage as well as cupping, assisted stretching (PNF) and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilizations (IASTM). Massage treatments are tailored to your individual needs. Common techniques used are Swedish, muscle stripping and kneading, Myofascial Release (MFR), Trigger Point Therapy, low-grade joint mobilization, stretching techniques such as Active Release, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Golgi Tendon Organ Release/Activation (GTO), Muscle Energy Techniques (MET); and hydrotherapy.

Doctors of Chiropractic are the spine, muscle, joint and nervous system, experts. They are trained in how to evaluate, diagnose, recommend and deliver a treatment plan that manages issues within these systems without prescribing medication. Chiropractic care can be used together with other medical or alternative treatments in order to achieve the best possible results. Non-intrusive, manual manipulations to the spine and joints are made to restore movement and function.

Therapies include a comprehensive 1st visit physical assessment of your area of complaint, diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan. Every treatment plan is uniquely designed and patient-centred followed by reoccurring follow-up adjustment and management plan review.

My name is Rebecca and I practice virtual therapy exclusively with adults and adolescents (15+). I have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Manitoba. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Manitoba College of Social Workers.

My therapy style is non-judgmental, compassionate, and strengths-based using an eclectic and integrative method. I often approach counselling through a solutions-focused lens while drawing upon resilience, attachment, and trauma-informed research.

Common themes addressed in virtual sessions are anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relations challenges and life transitions. My path to understanding wellness began during my undergraduate studies to attain a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba in 2015. I then decided to establish my professional career by pursuing a Doctorate of Chiropractic at the University of Western States in 2019, while living in Portland, Oregon (Keep Portland weird!).

I understand that wellness takes on a different meaning for every person. I deliver patient-centred, evidence-informed care aimed at reducing pain and returning you to whatever you love, you can focus on the things that make you happy and more importantly, WHOLE.
