Located in Winnipeg’s iconic Exchange District on Treaty 1 Territory, we offer a blend of massage therapy and counselling services designed to nurture your mind, body, and spirit.

When it comes to holistic and preventative health, at Anchor we treat the physical body and also address emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual health. Our team consist of a registered Psychotherapist (RSW), registered Massage therapists (RMTs) and a licensed Chiropractic doctor working together, making the mind body connections. Policies

Booking Your Appointment

To make booking as easy as possible, we highly recommend using our secure Patient Portal. It's a one-stop shop for scheduling, managing appointments, viewing invoices, uploading documents, and completing intake forms. You'll receive an email confirmation after your booking, so you’ll know your spot is reserved!

Need to cancel or reschedule? You can do so through the Patient Portal up to 24 hours before your appointment. If you need to make changes after that, please get in touch with us via email or text.

Please note: Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment are subject to a $40 Late Cancellation Fee. We’ll send you a reminder text 2 days prior to your appointment, so you have time to confirm or cancel with ease!

Arrival Information

Since we don’t have reception staff, please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your appointment. Our front door is always locked for security, but don’t worry—just knock and your practitioner will be right with you!

Running Late?

Life happens! If you're running behind, please text or call us to let us know. Please note that if you arrive late, we may need to shorten your treatment time or charge you for the full reserved service, depending on the situation.

Direct Billing for Massage Therapy

We offer direct billing to most insurance providers. To confirm your coverage, check the Health Insurance section of your Patient Portal. We also recommend you call your insurer to confirm any requirements, such as needing a doctor’s note. You can upload prescriptions directly through the portal for your convenience.

Counselling Sessions

If you’re interested in our counselling services, we’d love to help! We offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation with our therapist to ensure you’re a good fit. If you’re ready to book a full session, you can easily schedule your 60-minute virtual session through our Patient Portal.

Once your session is booked, you'll receive a confirmation email and, on the day of your session, an email with the session link. For any questions, feel free to email Rebecca directly at rebecca@wpganchor.ca.

Parking Information

There’s plenty of street parking available near the clinic:

  • Weekdays: $1.75 per hour

  • After 5:30 pm: Free parking

  • Weekends: 2 hours of complimentary parking

    For convenience, we recommend downloading the pay by phone app

Patient Concerns & Complaints

Your comfort and well-being are important to us! Patients have the right to end a session at any time. If you ever have concerns or complaints, we want to hear from you. Our practitioners will inform Management, who will then reach out to you directly by email or phone. We encourage you to contact us so we can work together to resolve any issues.

Massage Therapy

  • Assess soft tissue, joint quality, muscle strength and range of motion

  • Review medical history and pain issues to personalize your treatment

  • Administer therapeutic massages for injury recovery, medical conditions and wellness

  • Work alongside other healthcare providers when necessary

  • Provide advice on exercises, postural improvement, physical rehabilitaion or relaxation

Psychotherapy

  • Promote mental health and personal growth while embracing diversity

  • Offer treatment for emotional, cognitive, interpersonal and behavioral issues, using recognized assessments and evaluations.

Professional & Patient Boundaries

We respect and maintain professional boundaries at all times. Our staff is committed to creating a safe and ethical environment for all of our patients.

Zero Tolerance for Inappropriate Behaviour 

We have a zero tolerance policy for any inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to sexual comments, questions, or any conduct that makes the therapist feel uncomfortable or unsafe.

Policy Overview:

  • Immediate Termination: Any inappropriate behaviour will result in the immediate termination of the session.
  • Full Payment Required: The patient will be charged in full for the session, regardless of its early termination.
  • No Future Appointments: Future appointments will be canceled, and the client will be banned from booking services.
  • Right to Call Authorities: We reserve the right to contact the police and file a report if necessary.

We offer a variety of therapeutic treatments to address different needs and conditions:

  • Deep Tissue Massage is ideal for pain or injury recovery.
  • Our Prenatal Massage is specially designed for expectant mothers and utilizes pregnancy bolsters to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Stress-Reduction Massage is focused on enhancing relaxation and reducing stress.
  • For muscle & facial restrictions or chronic pain we offer treatments such as Cupping + Massage and Assisted Stretch + Massage.
  • To address other pain conditions, swelling, or hormonal imbalances, we provide Acupuncture + Massage.

Our skilled therapists employ a range of techniques, including Swedish massage, muscle stripping and kneading, Myofascial Release (MFR), Trigger Point Therapy, low-grade joint mobilization, stretching techniques like Active Release, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), Golgi Tendon Organ Release/Activation (GTO), Muscle Energy Techniques (MET), IASTM tools, taping and hydrotherapy.
